Prof. (Dr.) Sushanta Kumar Roul is a Principal at Lilabati Mahavidyalaya (Government Aided Degree College, affiliated to the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling), Post. -Jateswar, P.S.- Falakata, Dist.- Alipurduar, West Bengal. An alumnus of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, he did his M.A. (Education & Political Science), B.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Education (2002).
He has been teaching in universities and teacher training colleges, both in India and abroad, for more than 25 years. Prior to joining Lilabati Mahavidyalaya in 23rd May 2023, Dr. Roul worked as Professor in the Department of Education, Amity University, Lucknow Campus, U.P. for 8 academic years, Associate Professor at Bahir Dar University, Bahir Dar, Ethiopia (Africa) for six academic years under a UNESCO sponsored scheme and at NCERT, New Delhi for 2 years. Most of the time in his academic career, he engaged in pre-service Secondary School Teacher Training and in-service Principal training programme in India and Abroad.
He has guided Ph.D. research scholars, M.Phil. students, more than 75 M.Ed., and M.A. dissertations/theses (Educational Leadership; and Educational Planning& Management) in India and abroad. At present, 4 students are pursuing their Ph.D. under his co-supervision.
He has published more than 65 research papers and articles in various national and international journals of Education and in edited book. He has also written and edited five books. He has presented more than 70 research papers and articles in National and International conferences and seminars in India and abroad. Dr. Roul is also a member of Editorial Board, Academic Advisor and Article Reviewer for various national and international educational and multidisciplinary journals.
Dr. Roul’s special areas of interest are Research Methodology in Education; Advanced Statistics in Education; Emerging Trends and Related Issues in Indian Education System; Educational Leadership; Educational Management & Administration; Educational Technology; Educational Measurement and Evaluation, etc.
